DLCN score

The Dutch Lipid Clinical Network (DLCN) criteria are criteria to diagnose individuals with Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH). This score can be used to diagnose “clinical” FH and to identify those individuals with the highest risk of carrying a deleterious variant in one of the culprit FH genes (LDLR, APOB, and PCSK9) in which genetic sequencing might be beneficial. For correcting LDL levels for Lp(a) cholesterol content we assumed that 30% of Lp(a) mass consists of cholesterol. To convert Lp(a) nmol/L to mg/dL we use a conversion factor of 2.4.
